About VCTs
Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) invest in unlisted companies which can include those trading on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM). These companies may offer substantial growth potential and dividend income to shareholders.
Rensburg Sheppards Investment Management manages Rensburg Aim VCT plc which provides shareholders with potentially valuable tax breaks, including the ability to offset 40% of their cost against income tax and tax free dividends (in respect of the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 tax years only).
Most of the companies that the VCTs currently invest in are established companies, usually on AIM. We do not invest in 'new' or start-up ventures.
The Venture Capital Trust's management team have many years experience of investing in unquoted companies. Before making an investment, they must obtain approval from the VCT Board of Directors, which mainly comprises independent, experienced business and professionally qualified members. After a potential investment has been analysed, agreed and completed, the team maintain regular contact with the management of the investee company, helping them achieve their growth targets and the VCT's eventual exit.
